"The Landmark Tree" (12x16 overall)
The Story:
I am terrible with directions. I never feel oriented in my surroundings. I can’t keep track of the direction I’m coming from and I get turned around quiet easily. Ask anyone whose driven with me. They’ll roll their eyes and agree with this whole heartedly. So when I drive these back roads that typically don’t have clear roadsigns visable for the absent minded, directionally challenged driver like *myself*, I rely on my landmarks. This live oak tree has remained my steady visual indicator that I’m approaching the halfway point of my destination. It’s placement on the corner of an upcoming turn, the fact that it’s literally dripping in spanish moss, and my childhood appreciation for a good climbing tree have made this landmark a special part of my route.
