Countdown to the Collection Release
I am at that point where I keep bothering the pieces of this upcoming collection. They’re telling me: “We’re finished, put the brush down!!!”, but I keep ignoring them. Over the weekend I finally made the “finishing” final by framing and photographing the pieces. This forced me to allow them to be complete. No turning back now, these beautiful babies are about to be released to the world!
To photograph these pieces I needed to use the one white-bright-soft-lit wall that I have in the house, in this corner of our bedroom. Normally this is the “holding” corner. You know the one, we all have it…it holds the unfolded laundry, the pile of shoes, the bag of items I’m “going to donate to Goodwill, I promise, just leave it there, I’ll do it this weekend!” That corner. But over the weekend it became the Photography Studio corner and it was perfect.
I’ll continue to finish up all the loose ends that go with releaseing a collection of artwork in the coming week, but for now I will just enjoy being surrounded by these pieces that have brought me so much joy in their creating. The meaning behind them. The memories associated with them. And the knowing that they are finally ready to spark joy in the homes of others.
